WIRE is moving to 673 Bourke St

Happy new year! We’re out with the old and in with the new in a literal way this year: a new office.

WIRE will be relocating to the Donkey Wheel House Building at 673 Bourke St, Melbourne CBD later this month.

The new site has lots of beautiful natural light and is even closer to Southern Cross Station and tram stops! It is on the first floor, with a lift and wheelchair access on Godfrey St.

Screenshot of google maps showing a 700m walk along Spencer St to 673 Bourke St. text reads "we're moving to Level 1 Donkey Wheel house 673 Bourke Street Melbourne CBD" with the WIRE logo below.

The decision to move was not ours to make, as the building that has housed us for 12 years was recently sold. But 2023 is our 40th anniversary (!!!) and we’ve been located in several different buildings over our lifetime. No matter the building, we will continue to be a safe place for women, non-binary and gender diverse people to seek non-judgmental support, information, and referrals.

We look forward to welcoming you at Bourke Street.

PS: The expense of relocating came with a month’s notice. If you can help our free, feminist service continue to support women, non binary and gender diverse people in Victoria by making a donation to WIRE, we would be very grateful for your help.
