Money problems with you partner

The "Money Problems with Your Partner" information booklet by WIRE provides comprehensive guidance for individuals experiencing financial abuse. It covers the definition of financial abuse, steps to regain control of finances, and strategies for managing money and debts. The booklet also offers practical advice on gathering important documents, obtaining legal assistance, and accessing support services. It aims to empower individuals by providing the necessary tools and information to navigate financial challenges and achieve financial independence.

Promoting Inclusive Essential Service Provision for All: A Practice Guide

The "Practice Guide for Essential Service Providers" by WIRE aims to promote inclusive service provision by addressing the systemic barriers faced by women and gender-diverse people. Funded by ECSTRA, the guide is based on research involving nearly a thousand stories from diverse individuals. It provides practical recommendations for essential service providers, such as utilities and financial services, to improve their practices and better support all customers, regardless of their personal circumstances.

Purse Project 3 - Evaluation report 2020

The "Purse Project 3" evaluation report by WIRE details the project's efforts to provide specialised training for community service professionals working with victim-survivors of family violence. The project aimed to enhance these professionals' skills and resources to better support diverse groups in building financial wellbeing. Improving the financial capability and financial confidence of women in Victoria

The "Improving the financial capability and financial confidence of women in Victoria" by WIRE provides a comprehensive analysis of contemporary literature on financial capability building, particularly for women from diverse backgrounds. It examines the barriers these women face in achieving financial capability and identifies best practices to support them. The review aims to inform the development of effective financial capability programs by highlighting key elements such as financial education, behaviours, and wellbeing, and how these are intertwined to enhance financial independence and security.

Strong Beginnings

The "Strong Beginnings" final report by WIRE explores the financial challenges women face in relationships and provides strategies to improve their financial engagement with partners. The project developed conversation scripts on key financial topics, trialed by women to help them discuss money matters with their partners. The findings highlight significant barriers, such as gendered social norms and communication styles, and emphasise the need for strategies that empower women to engage in financial discussions, ultimately enhancing their long-term economic outcomes.

Money Mindset

The "Money Mindset" final evaluation report by WIRE details a peer-led financial capability project aimed at multicultural communities. The program addressed financial capability gaps among migrant and refugee women by training multilingual peer educators to deliver culturally and gender-appropriate financial education. The project successfully built participants' confidence and skills in financial decision-making, navigating systems, and discussing money matters. The evaluation highlights the program's positive impact on financial independence and the importance of community-specific approaches to financial education.

The "Leaving a Relationship" information booklet by WIRE provides essential guidance for individuals considering or undergoing separation. It covers key topics such as deciding whether to leave a partner, legal processes for separation, managing finances, finding new accommodation, and supporting children through the transition. The booklet aims to empower individuals with practical advice and resources to navigate the emotional and logistical challenges of ending a relationship, ensuring they are well-prepared and informed throughout the process.

Essential Equitable Service Delivery with Co-Design

The document "Essential Equitable Service Delivery with Co-design" emphasises the importance of integrating co-design principles to create equitable services. It highlights how involving diverse stakeholders, especially those from marginalised communities, in the design process can lead to more inclusive and effective service delivery. The approach aims to address systemic barriers and ensure that services meet the unique needs of all individuals, promoting fairness and accessibility.

The SARA Financial Wellbeing Program for Women

"The SARA Financial Wellbeing Program for Women” aimed to improve the financial wellbeing of women and gender diverse individuals, especially those affected by family violence or financial abuse. Delivered over eight weeks by community-based trainers, it used a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach. WIRE trained 57 trainers and provided comprehensive resources. A total of 287 women participated in 38 programs across 27 locations in Victoria. The program successfully enhanced participants' financial knowledge, assertiveness, and communication skills, fostering long-term financial independence and community connections.

A Money Conversation Kit to promote financial capability of women and gender-diverse people. The kit includes: My money guide - providing guidance on talking about money and where you can find more information; My money organiser – A4 self-fill sheets to record all your important financial information; and A how-to booklet, including a checklist to help organise your financial life.

WIRE Conversation Kit

Having a conversation with friends or family about gender equality is one of the most powerful things you can do. The Gender Equity & You conversation kit contains a conversation booklet, a pocket guide and a self-care worksheet. The kit is designed to support persuasive conversations about gender equity as part of the Lead for Change primary prevention project.
