WIRE offers a suite of community workshops and information session on topics critical to gender equity and economic security.

WIRE provides learning opportunities and resources to support women, gender diverse and non-binary people. We recognise that everyone faces unique challenges and are here to support you to navigate them. Our programs build skills and confidence in recognising and overcoming the barriers you may face to achieving your goals. 


Our programs aim to be more than just educational, rather we hope they will be transformative. We provide information and resources to help you explore your options and make informed decisions, as well as opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences.

FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT

WIRE provides learning opportunities and resources focused on women’s financial empowerment.

These learning opportunities aim to support participants to:
  • Build skills and confidence around money 
  • Strengthen financial knowledge 
  • Understand financial options 
  • Make informed financial decisions 

CURRENT FINANCIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:

Bonus Session: Money & Life Events

Focused financial learning sessions exploring money in the context of key life experiences, including:

Financial planning for life’s events

Money, equality and respectful relationships

These sessions support reflection, understanding and informed decision‑making around money.

This clinic offers WIRE service users a single one-hour free phone consultation with a financial professional. 

Common concerns include:

  • Change of financial circumstances 
  • Planning for retirement, having children or buying property 
  • Recently separated or partnered (not property settlement) 
  • Managing superannuation 
  • Understanding what financial options are available, including: possible Centrelink payments, and privacy and confidentiality when setting up new bank accounts 
  • Identifying incoming and outgoing cash flow 
  • Identifying next steps and resources to assist with investing or managing finances 


The clinic has typically run remotely once a month and could be facilitated on a rotating basis depending on availability. Call 1300 134 130 to talk to one of our support workers and book your appointment.
 

This is a resource created by WIREwith support from the NAB Foundation, providing a toolkit for financial sector professionals this resource aims to help you engage more effectively with women and gender‑diverse clients. Many people experience barriers that discourage them from seeking financial services, this resource supports you to build a more welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages all clients, especially those traditionally excluded, to access and trust your services. 

LEGAL INFORMATION SEMINARS

WIRE delivers legal information seminars designed to provide clear, accessible information that supports informed decision‑making. 

What To Expect

These activities: 

  • Respond to the needs and priorities of the communities we engage with 
  • Support shared learning and knowledge‑building 
  • Create opportunities for connection and learn more about WIRE
  • Understand key legal topics, rights and responsibilities 
  • Explore available legal options and pathways 
  • Build confidence through reliable, structured legal information
