Gender inequity can be observed and experienced in all aspects of our lives. It’s often ignored or remains unnamed due to many factors including social myths and stereotypes, unconscious bias, cultural norms, and societal conditioning. This is why it’s important to look at systems that cause oppression and marginalisation and find solutions to remove the systemic barriers for all people, not just helping people to navigate the complexities and barriers.

Below are just a few examples of how inquiry shows up in our lives everyday: On average, a woman in Australia earns $1 Million less than a man across her career. Women aged 55 and over was the fastest growing cohort of homeless Australians between 2011 and 2016, increasing by 31%. 80% of individuals with an autoimmune disease are women. However, the clinical trials in this area use twice as many male participants as female participants. Women are 50% more likely to be misdiagnosed following a heart attack.

Do you believe some women and gender diverse people in Australia face various and often intersecting forms of barriers when accessing opportunities and resources?

Do you agree our current social systems don’t allow for a fair and just distribution of resources? Do you think economic equity can provide a sustainable solution for achieving gender equity?

Do you care about living in a society that all people, irrespective of their gender, can thrive?

And would you like to be involved in creating that society?

Are you interested in investing in projects and programs that create long-lasting solutions?
