In February 2023 the National Employment Standards (NES) introduced new entitlements for employees, known as Family and Domestic Violence Leave. Introducing new workplace standards, the Family and Domestic Violence Leave enabled employees experiencing domestic and family violence to access 10 days of leave. The leave addressed the economic insecurity victim-survivors of family and domestic violence often experience when taking time off work.
