WIRE’s Employment Clinic: Free Workshop Series

Join WIRE, in partnership with William Angliss Skills & Jobs Centre, for this 6 Week online* workshop series designed to support women and gender diverse people to secure meaningful and sustainable employment.

Workshop 1: Rewire Your Work Values Friday February 13th @ 11:00am – 12:30pm During this session, your job coach will support you in clarifying your focus and setting priorities. Together, you’ll explore your strengths, identify any challenges, and reflect on your values to foster an open and positive mindset throughout your job search. There will be options for group discussions and reflections.

Workshop 2: Resume Ready Friday February 20th @ 11:00am – 12:00pm In this practical session, you’ll learn the essential do’s and don’ts of writing a compelling resume, CV, and cover letter—understanding what employers look for, how to tailor your content to different roles, and how to avoid common mistakes. You’ll be resume ready by the end of the session!

Workshop 3: Tackling Technology: Linked In, AI + Friday February 27th @ 11:00am – 12:00pm Give yourself the digital edge! Learn how to use online platforms such as Linked In, appropriate use of AI and other forms of tech to your advantage.

Workshop 4: Ready, Set, Interview Friday March 6th @ 11:00am – 12:00pm Interviews can feel intimidating, but this session is designed to help you feel more prepared and confident. You’ll develop practical interview skills, learn how to effectively respond to selection criteria, and gain strategies for handling challenging questions with clarity and composure.

Workshop 5: Pathways & Possibilities Friday March 13th @ 10:00am – 12:00pm *IN PERSON at William Angliss Institute At the William Angliss Institute, you will learn about all the different education and career pathways possible for you. Our mentor will discuss available courses, funding options, HECS-HELP, and visas. We will then take a tour of the campus, finishing with refreshments at the Tram Cafe. This session is in-person only.

Workshop 6: Paperwork & Payslips Friday March 20th @ 11:00am – 12:30pm Hear from WIRE’s financial capability worker in this workshop designed to help you manage your new employment and income. You’ll learn practical skills about tax, superannuation, pay grades and entitlements, budgets + more!
