Tax Talks

9 September @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Australia’s tax system can be confusing at the best of times, and even more so during Tax Time. Tax Time is the period following the end of the financial year when Australians gather their income statements, receipts, and are reminded by the Australian Taxation Office to lodge their tax return.

But what does that mean? For those who are new to the system, whether starting their first job, experiencing a change in family circumstances, or recently arriving in Australia, understanding tax obligations and knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming.

Join WIRE in this free, interactive workshop as we step through the basics of Australia’s Taxation System. You will learn general information and practical tips about:

  • What is Tax in Australia
  • If you need to lodge a Tax Return
  • What information to include in a Tax Return
  • Deductions, Medicare Levy and HECS-HELP
  • What to do if you’ve made a mistake

Date: Wednesday, 9 September 2026
Time: 12.00pm – 1:00pm
Location: Online via Zoom

All women, trans and gender diverse people are welcome!
