WIRE provides a free telephone information, support, and referral service and a Women's Information Centre (WIC) for Victoria women. Volunteers staff the phone room and assist our staff in WIC. To do this work, women need to be at least 21 years old and complete our training course.
To register your interest or to find out more, call WIRE on 1300 134 130.
Women who volunteer are the lifeblood of WIRE. At any one time, close to 100 women donate their time, skills and experience, representing nearly $100,000 worth of work each year.
Why do women love volunteering with WIRE?
WIRE provides a warm, supportive environment for women to learn and explore their personal and professional development. Women who volunteer with us say it is an immensely satisfying, stimulating and enriching experience in their lives.
Many women also find their experience with WIRE leads them to employment and sought-after places in higher education courses.
